COLLECTIF ARSYS / GRUSELLE ; DANIEL
Description:
Bandoneon + saxophone quartet version! Five Tango Sensations" is a new tango revolution by Daniel Gruessel, a classical accordion and bandoneon player who studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and Mons. He has collaborated with the Belgian saxophone ensemble "Collectif Arsys", whose repertoire covers a wide range of genres and is composed of a variety of styles. The bandoneon and saxophone version of "Five Tango Sensations," a quintet composed for the Kronos Quartet in his later years, will be performed along with the famous numbers "Adios Nonino" and "Oblivion" by Astor Piazzolla, the revolutionary child of tango. And it includes works by contemporary tango writers Gerardo Jerez Le Cam (b.1963) and Alejandro Schwarz (b.1969). The rich expression of saxophone and bandoneon by these musicians of exceptional skill opens up new horizons for tango. Tokyo M-Plus
