Courage at Calvary

18th century Italian figure of Christ mounted on an 18th century corona with antique hand-forged nails and citrine points. The missing left arm of the Christ has been replaced with an original, hand-forged 18th century nail. This piece is inspired by the gospel stories of the crucifixion of Christ.

This piece is being exhibited with Museo Casa di Dante for an exhibition titled, Il Coraggio e la Paura. The exhibition is hosted by the Society of Fine Arts - Artists' Circle “Dante's House."  In English the title translates to “Courage and Fear.” The collection is presented at Museo Casa di Dante, a museum that honors the history and life of Dante Alighieri. It was formerly the famous Italian poet’s home and is now committed to sharing Dante’s literary work and important works of art. 

Figura italiana del XVIII secolo raffigurante Cristo, montata su una corona del XVIII secolo con chiodi antichi forgiati a mano e punte di citrino. Il braccio sinistro mancante del Cristo è stato sostituito con un chiodo originale del XVIII secolo forgiato a mano. Questo pezzo è ispirato alle storie evangeliche della crocifissione di Cristo.

Questo pezzo sarà esposto insieme a una collezione completa di Jean O'Reilly Barlow, artista e direttore creativo di Interi, in una mostra a Firenze, Italia, questo autunno. Intitolata "Coraggio e paura", la mostra sarà ospitata dalla Society of Fine Arts - Artists' Circle "Dante's House". In inglese il titolo si traduce in "Coraggio e paura". La mostra si terrà al Museo Casa di Dante, un museo che onora la storia e la vita di Dante Alighieri.
