Petula Clark
Description:
The magic of Tony Hatch's arrangements and Petula's mastery of the music are reissued! The year 1965 was a prolific and successful year for Petula, following the huge success of "Downtown" the previous year. The songs gathered under the concept of "covering the world's greatest hits" included M-6, a popular Gipsy Kings cover, M-8, a slow interpretation of a Beatles number, and M-10, an exhilarating bossa song, and were released under the title "Petula Clark Sings The International Hits" in the UK. (This time, she's wearing a wool hat.) The album was released under the title "Petula Clark Sings The International Hits. (This time, the US version, with its impressive wool hat, was adopted.) The album also includes 9 bonus tracks, including M-13, which led her to France, and M-21, a beautiful song full of euphoria despite being the B-side of a single release, and many other fine dreamy songs that are the essence of pop music.
