Built in 2024, it features a special set of sinker cedar that Hozen had kept for decades, finally paired with flamed walnut in a combination chosen for both beauty and tone. The natural neutrality of walnut allows the warmth, richness, and power of sinker cedar to come through with remarkable clarity.

As a tribute to Ervin Somogyi, Hozen reinterpreted the famous breakaway rosette in his own style — a respectful homage to the master who deeply influenced his voicing journey.

This model also introduced another first: the use of sinker cedar on the headstock overlay, marking the first time Hozen had ever extended a top wood onto the headstock in this way.

Personal, symbolic, and musically distinctive, this instrument was not only a limited edition — it was the beginning of a new chapter for Hozen Black Label.
