Our hardware is heavy solid brass which is rustproof. It will tarnish over time but can be made shiny again with a German product called Wenol.

Leashes are 6' long. Handles are joined to the leash by a brass square so that you can clip the snap to it if you want to wear it over your shoulders (so that you don't have to carry it if your dog is off-leash). Because they are constructed that way, you can choose a different color for the handle.

Biothane is a very strong, flexible, waterproof, fade-resistant, stink-proof, and easy-to-clean material that has been used for years to make horse halters, bridles, and reins. Although it isn't reflective it is more visible on the road or a trail than leather or nylon and unlike other materials, the color doesn't fade.
