Kota Doria sarees are made in Rajasthan, using an effort intensive technique. The light fabric made of tiny woven squares (khat), is hand woven on traditional pit looms. It is then printed with wooden block prints dipped into the dye, which are pressed firmly onto the fabric. This has to be done with precision to avoid any breaks in the motif.
