Rounding out at 10 feet long, the Shenandoah is the ultimate barrel sauna! The interior is divided into two spaces: a four-foot changing room and an six-foot sauna room. The diameter is seven feet, putting the total measurements at 7’x10’. Just looking at the Shenandoah, you can picture the sauna parties to come—the attached changing room adds an element of privacy, and the sauna room boasts plenty of space for up to four people. The Harvia 8 kW electric heater will have the room nice and toasty at 180ºF in an hour or delayed up to eight hours. Sequestered in your backyard, lodge, or mountain cabin, the Shenandoah will bring you relaxation for years to come.
Lumber type: Choose between three different types of solid lumber. Rustic fir is light in color, with small knots creating a unique pattern on each piece. Rustic cedar has a slightly red hue amongst the knots and boasts a pleasant cedar aroma. Clear cedar is premium lumber, with knots noticeably absent. All three lumber options are 1 ⅜” thick to insulate the sauna room.
Vista rear window: Open the barrel sauna interior to breathtaking views with the addition of the vista rear window. This 20” x 36” piece of 3/8” glass sits on the back end barrel, above the electric heater.
Door style: Outfit your sauna with one of the following four door options: deluxe glass, fading glass, wood with a window, or all-wood.
Heater: The Shenandoah comes standard with an 8kW electric, and you can upgrade it to an electric 8kW Harvia KIP80W with Xenio CX170 panel and WiFi controls, or a wood-burning Harvia M3 heater with a chimney kit.
Traditional saunas require very little upkeep. Simply wipe down the interior after each use and check for any dust or debris that you may have tracked in.
The Shenandoah will ship via a flatbed truck. Lead time is 3-6 weeks.
Mid-level handyman and assembly skills are recommended for this sauna. Minimal sawing or modifying certain components may be necessary during the assembly process. Two people can generally do the assembly in 6-8 hours. It is recommended that you review the installation manual in advance to familiarize yourself with the process.
Heater and stones are essential to a traditional sauna experience. With the room at least heated to 160ºF, the traditional sauna can be enjoyed in two ways. The first is called a dry sauna, which lacks any added moisture. The second is called a wet sauna, where you sprinkle water onto the heated stones to create a refreshing burst of steam and added humidity.
