The Voltasol HSI5000 Plus is a G100-compliant 5kW single-phase hybrid solar inverter with battery charger for on-grid, off-grid, and grid-tie with backup operation. 48V DC battery input, 100A dual MPPT solar charger, up to 950V PV input, and compatible with Pylontech, BYD, Voltacon lithium, and all lead-acid battery types. Expandable to three-phase systems via parallel operation with up to 6 units. Manufactured and supported by Voltacon.

Product Overview

The Voltasol 5kW Plus is the high-PV-input version of the Voltacon single-phase hybrid platform. The 950V maximum PV input voltage and dual MPPT 100A charger allow the solar array to be configured with longer strings and higher open-circuit voltages than standard low-voltage hybrid inverters, making it suitable for larger panel arrays on residential and small commercial rooftops.

The parallel operation capability means a single 5kW unit can be expanded to a larger single-phase system (up to 30kW with 6 units) or a balanced three-phase system using matched units on each phase. The communication boards required for parallel operation are included in the box at no extra cost.

Battery compatibility covers Pylontech, BYD, Voltacon lithium packs with BMS communication via RS485, as well as standard GEL and AGM lead-acid batteries without BMS.

Installation and Safety Notes

Must be installed by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited solar installer. G100 compliance requires correct configuration and DNO notification or approval before grid connection. Battery systems must comply with BS EN 62619 and relevant local building regulations. Correct cable sizing, fusing, DC and AC isolators, surge protection, and earthing are essential. Do not attempt DIY installation of hybrid inverter and battery systems.
