Gouden Carolus 1st Fill Bourbon Cask Anker Cask Finish Belgian Single Malt Whisky (2018) 70cl

An extremely interesting Belgian single malt, which has been finished in Belgian beer casks.

Fans of the Belgian beer may be excited to know this release used the same mash, and enjoys an aging period in casks from the brewery. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and without any added colouring, it's a well balanced dram with plenty of Belgian beer influence.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Fresh cut hay, delicate floral hops, drizzles of caramel, and oaky vanilla.

Palate: Sticky malt loaf, with more vanilla, spiced apple compote, and a pleasant bitterness.

Finish: Barley sweets, with spice building.
