This dish (used for jewellery, trinkets or even nibbles) is a superb example of postwar space-age design. It takes the form of a sleek flying saucer from outer space, the gleaming chrome plated brass being typical of the utopian optimism associated with the design period. 

A bright butterscotch orange ridged bakelite handle caps the tapered stem. The colour is still remarkably deep, the condition almost untouched. The dish achieves its poise and floating appearance with three domed feet, discreetly mounted to the underside.
