Details
Esther Haywood is an artist from Utopia and the granddaughter of renowned artist Gloria Petyarre. Raised among celebrated Utopian artists, including her aunties Ada Bird Petyarre and Kathleen Petyarre. Esther grew up immersed in a strong tradition of cultural storytelling through the art. She continues her grandmother’s Bush Medicine Leaf style, depicting the healing leaves of the Kurrajong tree, long used by Utopia women in traditional bush medicine practices, honouring women’s knowledge, healing, and cultural continuity.
Please note that the paintings' colours vary in different lighting and the pictures displayed are photos of the painting (i.e. pictures taken inside vs. outside in the sun).
