The Victron Inverter 24/3000 230V Smart is a pure sine wave inverter designed for off-grid and backup power applications. It converts 24V DC battery power to 230V AC at 3000VA continuous output, making it suitable for professional installations where reliable AC power is needed from a battery bank. Bluetooth connectivity via the VictronConnect app allows configuration and monitoring without additional hardware.
The 24/3000 sits in Victron's inverter-only range, meaning it does not include a battery charger or transfer switch. It is a dedicated DC-to-AC converter, which keeps the unit straightforward for installations where charging is handled separately, for example by a solar charge controller or a standalone battery charger. The 3000VA rating covers a broad range of loads including power tools, appliances and lighting circuits typical in off-grid cabins, vehicles and marine installations.
The "Smart" designation refers to the integrated Bluetooth module. Using VictronConnect, an installer can adjust operational parameters such as low battery voltage thresholds, dynamic cutoff curves and relay behaviour directly from a phone or tablet. No additional interface hardware is required for initial setup. For ongoing remote monitoring, the inverter can be connected to a Victron GX device (such as a Cerbo GX) and integrated into the VRM online portal.
At 18.46 kg, the unit is a substantial piece of equipment and should be wall-mounted in a ventilated enclosure or compartment. Victron's toroidal transformer design gives the unit a high surge capacity, which is important for starting inductive loads such as pumps and compressors that draw significantly more current at startup than during steady-state operation.

This inverter operates at high DC currents from a 24V battery bank and must be installed by a qualified electrician or competent person familiar with DC power systems. DC cabling, fusing and battery connections must be correctly rated for the continuous and peak current demands of a 3000VA inverter. The unit is not grid-connected and does not require G98 or G99 notification, but any AC distribution connected to its output must comply with current wiring regulations (BS 7671 in the UK). Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. For marine installations, follow applicable NMEA or RCD standards.
