Matinicus Salt Farm started from a love of food, sustainability and Matinicus Island.  I wanted to create a high quality product that expresses those passions. Our wild sea salt is 100% solar evaporated, a slow process that takes weeks to form mineral rich salt crystals that are hand harvested in small batches.

The high mineral content and crystal structure of our salt gives it a distinctive bold, bright and briny flavor and crunchy texture that enhances any dish. You can use this hand crushable salt for finishing, cooking, brining, curing, and everything between.  Free of any chemicals, dyes or anti-caking agents.

This 1.4oz glass jar makes a great gift for food enthusiasts and folks who would appreciate a taste of the Maine coast. It comes with a cork lid and the paper labels are made from a compostable sugarcane byproduct called bagasse with some hemp and linen, making this paper vegan and environmentally friendly. It's printed with certified compostable and vegan inks.
