Baume & Mercier is a long-established Swiss watch house founded in 1830. The company gained a reputation for jewellery watches in its early years, but in the late 19th century it gained recognition for its chronograph and grand complication models.

The logo "Phi", which stands for balance in Greek letters, is symbolic. Since 1988, the company has been part of the Richemont Group and continues to produce watches that are updated for the modern age, while continuing its long-established tradition.

This watch Ref.37056 is a hand-wound vintage dress watch produced in the 1970s.

The case material is 18K yellow gold.This case has a barrel-shaped, gently curved design called a tonneau. The case size is 24.8mm in width and 33.8mm in height including lugs.

It is slightly larger than Cartier Tank Louis by numbers only, but actually looks the same or slightly smaller than the Tank due to its curved shape.

The front of the case has a very fine workmanship finish. It is similar to the Bark finish, but different, and is called "Florentine Finish" in English.

It is a finish rarely seen on Rolex watches, but even rarer on watches of other brands.

The dial is a champagne gold dial that is the same color as the case. This also has a detailed finish similar to the case.

While a typical silk-grained dial has a vertical and horizontal grid pattern, this dial has a diagonal grid pattern. This is also a detail rarely seen.

A genuine Baume&Mercier gold plated buckle is included.
