Gérald Genta was the designer of luxury sports watches such as the Patek Philippe Nautilus and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, and had a huge influence on subsequent watch design.

In later years, it attracted a lot of attention and watch manufacturers began to promote Genta designs as one of their distinctive features.

This is one of the watches from the 1990s, sold during the early years of Genta's eponymous brand after he became independent. It is the automatic perpetual calendar G3144.7.

The case is made of 18K yellow gold. The round case is slightly smaller, measuring 33mm in diameter. The lugs on the case have a very distinctive shape, reminiscent of the IWC Da Vinci.

The back cover is engraved with a fish mark, which indicates a waterproof case, and one of the features of this watch is that it has a screw-back design despite complication watch.

The dial features a matte white finish.Unlike typical perpetual calendars, the moon phase display at 12 o'clock is eye-catching. Another very unusual feature is that lapis lazuli is used for this moon phase display.

The movement is Frederic Piguet's automatic Cal. 71 (FP71). The FP71 is an ultra-thin automatic movement that has also been used by Chopard, Breguet, and Blancpain. Since its launch in 1975, it has remained an extremely reliable movement that remains the basis for current models even 50 years later.

The off-center 3/4 rotor is very distinctive, and this watch incorporates a perpetual calendar module atop the FP71 movement.

It comes with an authentic 18k yellow gold buckle shaped initials“GG,”representing Gerald Genta.
