The Victron Inverter 12/375 is a compact 12V DC to 230V AC pure sine wave inverter with a SCHUKO output socket and VE.Direct communication port. It is designed for small off-grid, mobile and backup power applications where a reliable 230V AC supply is needed from a 12V battery bank.
The 12/375 sits at the entry level of Victron's VE.Direct inverter range. It converts 12V DC battery power to a clean 230V AC sine wave output, making it compatible with standard European appliances connected via the integrated SCHUKO socket. The VE.Direct interface sets it apart from basic inverters: it allows the unit to communicate with other Victron equipment, enabling remote monitoring and data logging when connected to a Cerbo GX or similar device.
At 375VA, this inverter is suited to powering smaller loads: lighting circuits, phone and laptop chargers, small power tools, or low-wattage appliances. It is not intended for high-draw loads such as kettles, heaters or large compressor fridges. The built-in low power mode cuts standby draw significantly, which matters in battery-dependent systems where parasitic consumption affects autonomy.
The unit's protections are automatic and require no manual reset in most cases. Low battery shutdown prevents deep discharge damage to the battery bank. Over-temperature protection reduces output or shuts down the unit if internal temperatures exceed safe limits, which is relevant in poorly ventilated installations.

This inverter connects directly to a 12V DC battery bank via DC cables. Correct cable sizing and fusing on the DC side is essential: undersized cables will cause voltage drop and reduce output performance. The SCHUKO output is not intended for connection to a fixed wiring circuit without appropriate isolation and compliance work. For any installation forming part of a fixed electrical system in a vessel, vehicle or building, work should be carried out by a qualified electrician or marine/auto electrician familiar with Victron equipment. This unit is not grid-connected and does not require G98 or G99 compliance, but all DC wiring must comply with relevant BS or IEC standards.
