Product Overview

The smallBMS monitors cell voltages within a Victron LiFePO4 battery and acts on two key outputs: a load disconnect and a charge disconnect. When the battery reaches a critically low state of charge, the load disconnect output signals connected devices (such as a battery protect or inverter remote) to cut the load before cell damage occurs. When the battery is fully charged, the charge disconnect output signals chargers to stop, preventing over-voltage.

This unit is intended for smaller systems where a full-featured BMS with CAN-bus communication is not required. It is compatible with Victron's range of small lithium batteries and works alongside components such as the Victron BatteryProtect and compatible MPPT solar charge controllers. The smallBMS does not provide active cell balancing or communication to a GX device, so it is important to confirm compatibility with your specific battery model and system design before installation.
