The Mountain Equipment Kryos Jacket is the result of extensive R&D in conjuction with Mountain Equipment's sponsored Alpinists to create the ultimate combination of warmth, protection at minimal weight. The Kryos consists of a down insulated inner layer with a lightweight GORE-TEX INFINIUM shell for weather protection. Insulation is provided by 800FP Goose Down held in place with a pleated baffle construction. This eliminates the cold spots that occur with regular stitch through construction. However stitch through baffles are still used on the arms where mobility is required. The 10 denier GORE-TEX Infinium shell is a separate layer, so the down baffles are not visible from the outside. This has the advantage of minimising stitching on the windproof and weather resistant outer. Overall this dual layer construction maximises warmth and weather protection, and at only 595g (medium) it offers an incredible amount of warmth for its weight.

The Kryos features a Super Alpine helmet compatible hood, which is insulated so you can really hunker down on those windy belays, it also features an EXL lining giving the hood a precise and fully protective fit. The two-way YKK moulded front zip is durable and smooth running and features an offset insulated rear baffle to assist with keeping in your cores warmth. There are plenty of storage options with two zipped hand pockets, two chest pockets and two large drop pockets inside. Adjustable cuffs and dual tether hem drawcords ensure you can fully protect yourself from the harshest of weather.
