Out of the dust of the American West flies a dream bird, singing its night song to a lost-and-found soul.  The nightingale is a symbol of hope.  Its melodies ring out in the darkest of spaces.

The chains of a past life fall from the rough paws of a dog on his way to find himself.  Around his neck, a new name, “Nuevo” and Francis the Saint.  The words of this monk, who preached to birds and brought peace to the heart of the savage wolf, lay below in rusty strokes.

Twilight stars hang on an electric blue sky, the setting sun, a dog’s halo.  Nuevo steals a thoughtful moment in this parable about healing wounds and taking the next steps on the rocky road to redemption.
