Descrizione (IT): AMP 400.2 Mk2 è la versione Mark II del noto finale di potenza professionale JB Systems AMP 400.2. È un amplificatore a 2 canali in classe-D da 2 x 250 W RMS su 8 ohm e 2 x 450 W RMS su 4 ohm. Esternamente mantiene le dimensioni particolarmente compatte del modello precedente con una larghezza rack standard di 19" e un’altezza 1 U (44 mm). Internamente è stato invece completamente rielaborato nel layout per migliorare l’affidabilità e la dissipazione del calore; a tal proposito si è fatto uso di ben tre ventole per mantenere la temperatura controllata. Il progetto si basa sull’uso di un alimentatore switching soft start estremamente efficiente. Tre le modalità di lavoro: stereo mono o bridged. Il modo stereo è quello convenzionale in cui entrambi i canali lavorano separatamente. Il modo mono è di base identico a quello stereo ma con gli ingressi di entrambi i canali linkati così che l’uscita sarà mono; in tal caso si potrà usare solo l’ingresso del canale LEFT per pilotare con lo stesso segnale entrambi i canali d’uscita. Infine il modo bridge mette a ponte gli stadi finali per una potenza di ben 900 W su 8 ohm. Un limitatore di picco previene la distorsione del segnale mentre un filtro low cut taglia le basse frequenze a 75 Hz con un filtro molto ripido a 24 dB/oct. La sensibilità d’ingresso è variabile secondo tra valori: 0775 V / 10 V / 144 V per adattarsi a qualsiasi sorgente. Presente anche l’interruttore posteriore per la massa flottante. Per impedire alle persone non autorizzate di modificare i livelli d’ingresso è possibile installare una copertura in plastica (inclusa) mediante 4 viti davanti ai controlli frontali. Gli ingressi dell’amplificatore sono XLR bilanciati è presente un’uscita link per il collegamento di un altro finale di potenza in daisy chain mentre le uscite sono su connettori speakON. AMP 400.2 Mk2 is the Mark II version of the well-known JB Systems AMP 400.2 professional power amplifier. It is a 2-channel class-D amplifier rated at 2 x 250 W RMS on 8 ohms and 2 x 450 W RMS on 4 ohms. Externally it maintains the particularly compact dimensions of the previous model with a standard rack width of 19" and a height of 1 U (44 mm). Internally however the layout has been completely reworked to improve reliability and heat dissipation; By the way three fans were used to keep the temperature controlled. The project is based on the use of an extremely efficient soft start switching power supply. Three working modes: stereo mono or bridged. Stereo mode is the conventional one in which both channels work separately. The mono mode is basically identical to the stereo one but with the inputs of both channels linked so that the output will be mono; in this case only the LEFT channel input can be used to drive both output channels with the same signal. Finally the bridge mode bridges the final stages for a power of 900 W on 8 ohms. A peak limiter prevents signal distortion while a low cut filter cuts low frequencies at 75 Hz with a very steep filter at 24 dB/oct. The input sensitivity is variable according to values: 0.775 V / 1.0 V / 1.44 V to adapt to any source. There is also a rear switch for floating mass.
